Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

DBT (Dialectical behaviour therapy) was created by Marsha Linehan. It is a cognitive behaviour treatment. This therapy helps the clients in learning new skills which helps in dealing with painful emotions and also reduce the conflicts in relationship. There are four main areas on which the DBT primarily focuses on providing therapeutic skills. In this therapy we start with mindfulness, it works on improving one’s ability to accept and to live in the present moment. The skills of DBT are considered to have the power to help those who are willing to improve their ability control the negative emotions and to tolerate the stress, to live in the present and be mindful, and interact and communicate with others effectively.
